Study environment and sustainability
Sustainability is embedded into all our programmes as a core graduate attribute. This is achieved through a student-centred, enriching learning environment, with an emphasis on practice-based learning. The University’s Education Strategy 2021-2024 stresses that Surrey graduates will be educated to think critically and differently and make a real impact on society.
In addition, Surrey offers specific environment and sustainability courses, for students to develop as future leaders in sustainability thinking and be empowered to take informed decisions and responsible actions that promote the wellbeing of present and future generations.
Postgraduates
The University of Surrey offers a wide range of postgraduate courses in sustainability which encompass taught modules and project work.
Masters courses
Undergraduate degree
We are excited to be launching our first undergraduate degree in sustainability for 2023 entry. Our new Environment and Sustainability BSc (Hons) will focus on addressing the challenges facing sustainable development from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Continuing professional development
We support organisations to integrate sustainability into their decision-making, looking at ways to minimise their environmental impact, and helping them to work actively towards a global sustainable future.
Helping to facilitate this, we offer a continuing professional development (CPD) provision run by the Centre for Environment and Sustainability.
