"I think the best thing about Guildford is definitely the town, it’s such a nice, picturesque place with literally every shop imaginable, and it’s only a 15 minute walk from the University!"

"Surrey appealed to me because it was in the top 10 in the league tables and had very high average earnings compared to other excellent universities. There are also many placement opportunities and the course suited me, it was exactly what I wanted to study.

Attending an Open Day definitely helped, reading league tables and the website and even watching videos really isn’t the same as coming to visit universities. The first time I came to Surrey, I remember telling my mum “this is the one”. It felt like homeit was like a small community and I felt like I belonged there straight away.

I liked that the first semester is there to help you settle in and that everybody can catch up, it helps you settle into university and the style of teaching/learning.

"The staff are always ready to help, they always reply really quickly to any emails you send them, which is really nice to know."

I moved here with my boyfriend, we share a couple’s flat together. I love being on campus, I am on Manor Park and I use the vet school every night to revise. The gym is a 5 minute walk away and that definitely makes me go! I go to the gym regularly and it is the best gym I’ve been to, regardless of what activity/sport you want to do, whether that’s to try out or competitively, they really have everything.

I am part of the Economics and Finance Society, it’s a great way to meet more people who share the same interests as you. I had been going to meetings weekly and I’ve learnt so much about trading, I started with little trading experience and now I trade daily with a 90 per cent profit margin!

I think the best thing about Guildford is definitely the town, it’s such a nice, picturesque place with literally every shop imaginable, and it’s only a 15 minute walk from the University! Aside from that, the proximity to London is also great, the trains are incredibly frequent and get you to London in about 30 minutes!

I spend my time on campus mainly in the Library (as most students do!), but when I need a break, I’ll meet my boyfriend or friends at Lakeside Café, the hot drinks are incredibly delicious and very cheap!

University helps you grow up and start looking at the future more seriously. I’ve gotten more of a grasp of where I want to be in the future since starting. In the future, I want to be an investment banker. I’ve already started to apply for spring weeks and will be looking to apply for summer internships too!"
