"I love the fact that Surrey has a balanced approach towards theoretical teaching as well as practical learning."
Carolyn Davies is former Learning and Development Manager at the Taj group of Hotels in India.
"After seven years in my Hotelier career, I wanted to strengthen my business acumen across functional areas and sharpen my people skills so I decided to pursue an MBA.
While researching through universities, I came across the University of Surrey; I found it had an academic approach rounded off with industry interactions. I was keen on an international degree, as I was seeking global exposure.
Also a substantial scholarship and close proximity to London, all nudged my decision towards the Connected MBA at Surrey.
This MBA to me was all about getting out of my comfort zone and exploring possibilities. I have learnt of strengths I never knew and opportunities I need to explore. I have noticed a distinct change in my approaches as well my thought process. Working and socialising with a cohort which is diverse in all aspects: nationality, gender as well as professional background, has truly expanded my overall outlook.
I love the fact that Surrey has a balanced approach towards theoretical teaching as well as practical learning. The opportunity of applying our learnings to live projects with companies such as Barclays, IKEA, SABMiller etc. has been one of the highlights of the programme.
Coupled with such opportunities as the MBA Business Breakfasts, the Mentoring scheme, professional development workshops, I am truly glad I chose Surrey."
