The best thing about my placement was realising how much I could grow when given responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work.

My placement at Dominic Levent Solicitors was an insightful and rewarding experience where I worked as a paralegal in the Family Department. The positive feedback I received from senior colleagues gave me confidence that I am well suited to this work. The experience shaped my academic choices and clarified the pathway I want to follow after university.

The most rewarding part of my placement was getting hands-on experience supporting clients through stressful legal processes. I would say a placement is an invaluable experience. 

I knew before my placement that I’d love to go into entertainment and during my placement I’ve loved learning so much about - and being a part of - the film industry. Although it is a tough industry to get into, I believe this placement experience has been undeniably beneficial in terms of getting early experience in the business.

My 12-month placement gave me practical experience that brought my studies to life and made me more confident about my future career path.

I have enjoyed how each year builds on the last, shifting from learning the foundational core principles of biomedical science to applying them to disease and to research happening here at Surrey.

On my placement at the House of Lords, each day is unique. With connections to such a range of sectors, the opportunities feel limitless. 

I completed a placement year at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, where I worked in the medical biochemistry and biophysics department. I'm so glad I was able to take this opportunity as it has made me more interested in a career in research.
