Why did you choose to study your course at Surrey?

I chose to study the Film, Animation and Digital Arts Masters at Surrey because I fell in love with the campus in Guildford and the course aligns with industry standards and offers a comprehensive approach to filmmaking, which will prepare me to tell authentic stories from my homeland.

What are the best things about your course? 

The University of Surrey offers a robust curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, mirroring real-world industry practices. Additionally, Surrey provides a supportive environment for students to explore their creative potential and gain confidence in their craft.

What are the best things about life here as a postgraduate student? 

As a postgraduate student at Surrey, you get to enjoy access to state-of-the-art facilities, engage with like-minded peers and faculty members, and participate in various extracurricular activities and networking events within the vibrant academic community.

What are your career plans? 

Upon graduation, I intend to return to Bangladesh and transition from documentary filmmaking to working on feature films. My goal is to leverage the skills and knowledge gained from this masters program to tell compelling stories that reflect the cultural richness of my homeland.

What advice do you have for students thinking of applying for this course? 

For students considering this course, I would advise immersing yourself fully in the program, taking advantage of every opportunity to learn and collaborate with fellow students and industry professionals. Additionally, don't underestimate the value of networking and building connections both within and outside the university to advance your career in the film industry.
