Prof Anthony TS Ho awarded visiting professorship by Chinese university

Prof Anthony TS Ho, Head of the Department of Computing, was awarded a visiting professorship by the Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) in China on 28 April 2014. The Vice President of WUT, Prof Anfu Zhang, presented the certificate to Prof Ho at an award ceremony chaired by the incoming Dean of the School of Computing Science and Technology of WUT, Prof Shengwu Xiong. After the award ceremony Prof Ho gave a talk titled “Towards a Successful Collaboration and Partnership.” During his visit, Prof Ho had also presented a research seminar to students and staff on “Digital Steganography, watermarking and forensics for secure communication and protection of multimedia content”, which is about his research as the lead of the Multimedia, Security and Forensics (MSF) Research Group at the University of Surrey. Prof Ho will help promote collaboration between WUT and the University of Surrey on joint research, staff exchange and joint teaching programmes particularly in the field of cyber security. As part of Prof Ho’s academic trip to China, he also visited another Chinese university, Hunan University (HNU) in Changsha, the capital of China’s Hunan Province. He also delivered an invited talk on his research at HNU’s School of Information Science and Engineering.
