Surrey academic awarded Tianjin Distinguished Visiting Professorship
Professor Anthony TS Ho, of the Department of Computer Science, has been awarded a Tianjin Distinguished Visiting Professorship by the Tianjin Municipal Commission of Education in Tianjin, China.
His appointment started from 1 August 2016 and will last for four years until 31 July 2020, with a possibility to be further extended for another four-year term. The host University of is the Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST), which will provide travel and living expenses during Professor Ho’s visits to China.
Professor Jucheng Yang, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Engineering at Tianjin said: “The Tianjin Distinguished Visiting Professorship is a very prestigious award as only around 10 such Professorships are given each year to outstanding scholars by the Tianjin Municipal Commission of Education. We are absolutely delighted that Professor Ho has been awarded this Professorship and look forward very much to working closely with him on research collaboration during his visits to the Tianjin University of Science and Technology in the coming years.”
