The Chanas’ Scholarship provides a scholarship of £9,000 over up to three years (£3,000 per year, excluding Professional Placement Year) for a female undergraduate student in Physics in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) at the University of Surrey.

The Chanas’ Scholarship provides a scholarship of £9,000 over up to three years (£3,000 per year, excluding Professional Placement Year) for a female undergraduate student in Physics in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) at the University of Surrey.
To apply for this scholarship students in their first year of their undergraduate degree at the University of Surrey should complete all sections of the form. If you are the holder of an In2Surrey Scholarship offer you are eligible to apply as long as you meet the stated key criteria.
Successful students will be advised of the outcome of their application in December 2020 and the award will be disbursed at the start of Semester 2.
Please note that application to the Chanas’ Scholarship is competitive and not all applications will be successful
Eligibility criteria
Open to female students from the UK/EU who are studying one of the eligible programmes:
- Physics BSc (Hons) or MPhys
- Physics with Astronomy BSc (Hons) or MPhys
- Physics with Nuclear Astrophysics BSc (Hons) or MPhys
- Physics with Quantum Technologies BSc (Hons) or MPhys
- Mathematics and Physics BSc (Hons), MPhys or MMath
Applicants who can demonstrate a household income of less than £35K will be prioritised for the scholarship.
How to apply
The Chanas’ scholarship application form must be completed and submitted by the deadline date, which is 30 November 2020.
