About
Queer Studies and Medical Humanities have been identified as areas for potential growth in postgraduate research in the School of Literature and Languages. We invite proposals for innovative projects across either of these areas. Applications from candidates with expertise in contemporary literature in relation to questions of gender and sexuality, mobility and spatiality, and/or global or comparative approaches, are especially welcome. Applications to the Medical Humanities studentship are welcomed from candidates of any discipline, although those with experience of international and/or comparative Medical Humanities are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants should develop their project proposal and then contact their potential primary supervisor (Lena Mattheis or Stephen Fay). For further details of staff research interests see: https://www.surrey.ac.uk/school-literature-languages/people It may also be possible to arrange cross-disciplinary supervisory teams, and this can be discussed on a case-by-case basis with the primary supervisor.
Eligibility criteria
Open to any UK or international candidates.
How to apply
Applications should be submitted via the PhD in English Literature or PhD in Literary and Cultural Studies programme pages. It is highly recommended that applicants contact a potential supervisor before submitting.
