The University of Surrey is delighted to announce that it has started a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Royal Mail.

The project, which will drive improvements in Royal Mail’s sorting operations, will draw on the logistics and business analytics expertise within Surrey Business School.
Led by Dr James Aitken and Dr Wolfgang Garn – and supported throughout by the KTP team in the University’s Research and Enterprise Support department – the project will help Royal Mail sustain and drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness and quality in its operations.
Mick Fehilly, Project Sponsor and Plant Manager at Royal Mail’s flagship centre at Gatwick, said: “I am delighted that we are working with the University of Surrey on this important market-leading project”.
As well as being another example of Surrey Business School’s commitment to working closely with industry to apply academic expertise to real-world situations, the project provides a unique opportunity for the University to embed practical commercial outcomes into its work.
