Department of Veterinary Preclinical Sciences
Our department consists of academics with wide-ranging interests in veterinary pre-clinical disciplines including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and endocrinology. Our multidisciplinary approach in teaching and research allows us to concentrate on the biological and biomedical sciences that underlie the practice of veterinary medicine.
About us
Our multidisciplinary approach in teaching and research allows us to concentrate on the biological and biomedical sciences that underlie the practice of veterinary and human medicine.
Our department houses a dedicated cardiac electrophysiology laboratory and is part of the Surrey Centre for Electrophysiology Theory, Research and Engineering (SCEPTRE). Additionally, we are part of the Interdisciplinary Research on Interface Structures (IRIS) laboratory will provide expertise in cell and tissue scaffolds for in-vitro platforms.
Most of the supervisory team has already established biomedical industrial collaborations (Geltor US, AMD UK), partnership with local hospitals (e.g Royal Surrey County Hospital, the Whitely Clinic in Guildford, Frimley Park, the SWLEOC Epsom, Ashford St Peters Hospital) and with the veterinary sector (e.g. Rossdales Equine Hospital, CVS Group, Royal Veterinary College, British Horse Racing Authority).
