Studying at Surrey has given me a strong foundation of knowledge and a better idea of what I want to do in the future. When I graduate, I want to work in a laboratory to carry out research, either through a PhD or through industry.

Studying abroad has definitely helped me decide on my career path.

Studying biochemistry has allowed me to develop a way of viewing the world around me that no other subject could replicate.

I fell in love the moment I stepped on campus. Surrey was everything I dreamed going to university would be like.

I chose Surrey because it accommodates all my favourite topics in biochemistry.

I’m taking advantage of the disability and neurodiversity support on offer, using a laptop in my exams and receiving extra time for these. With this support, my studies have become more organised and less stressful.

My Clearing experience was definitely one of the most stressful periods of my life, but the outcome is far better than I could have imagined in those moments and it turned out Surrey was the best fit for me.

For my Professional Training placement, I spent a year with Vertex Pharmaceuticals (Europe) Ltd, an American pharmaceutical company that produces transformative medicines to change patients’ lives.

I’m leaving Surrey as a more fearless, confident, knowledgeable and open-minded person."
