We are involved in a broad range of research areas within the department and across the University.

World leading research

60 per cent of our computer science and informatics research was rated world leading or internationally excellent in the latest UK Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014). Surrey has risen to 22nd place among 106 institutions for ‘Research Power.’

Studentships

Generating virtual camera views using generative networks

Funding information:
Approx £21,000 per annum with an enhanced stipend of £20,000 per annum. A directly funded project available to UK students only.

Computational lighting in video

Funding information:
This research project has funding attached. Funding for this project is available to citizens of the UK.Approximately £25,000 per annum.

Learning, prediction and decision control in complex systems

Funding information:
A stipend of £16,000 per anum subject to nationality and residence status. Fees are covered for UK/EU students (in value of £4,260). Directly funded project (European/UK Students only).
