Anne takes the plunge

Home Economics graduate Anne Ferrett will be hoping an angel will be looking over her when she abseils down Guildford Cathedral, figuratively and literally!

Anne will start her epic 160-foot drop from the base of the golden angel which stands atop the cathedral.

She is raising funds for Parkinson’s UK, a charity close to her heart as Anne supported her mum for 10 years with the condition.

She said: “The Cathedral seemed the perfect choice as the Angel was a landmark during my university years, and I spent time in the Royal Surrey Hospital with my Mum, who died in 2013 aged 91. It will be a big challenge for me - I am looking forward to the view from the top but not the next bit! Hopefully I will raise money to help reduce the challenge of living with Parkinson’s.”

The abseil is planned for 18 June and more details on Anne’s Just Giving page.
