Department of Sociology graduates achieve 100 percent employment rate

Combining social insight and analytical ability with professional skills and practical experience gives Surrey undergraduate students the lead in employability.

The official Destination of Leavers Survey from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) has revealed that 100% of graduates from the University of Surrey’s Department of Sociology were in employment or education when contacted six months after graduating in 2013.

This outstanding performance reflects the professional skills and practical experience that the School’s undergraduate students acquire, especially through Surrey’s highly regarded Professional Training placements programme.

This approach combines to wonderful effect with the enhanced social insight and analytical skills that students develop on our range of sociology, criminology and media-related degrees.

The employment indicator across the University was 96.9%, putting Surrey in first place for graduate employability among English chartered universities.
