Surrey appoints new Director of Strategic Research Relationships

Atti Emecz has formally joined the University of Surrey as Director of Strategic Research Relationships.

The University is pleased to announce that Atti Emecz has formally joined Surrey as Director of Strategic Research Relationships and Strategy following a year’s secondment from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Commenting on the appointment, Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Kearney said: “During his time here, Atti has made a significant contribution to developing research strategy and major bid preparation, and has already helped to secure some notable successes. I wish him all the best in these and other endeavours going forward.”

Mr Emecz added: "The last 12 months have enabled me to learn a lot about the University and to meet many new colleagues. I now know how much potential we have within all our faculties and I am convinced that we will be able to realise our aspirations for research.

"I am particularly grateful for the warmth of welcome I have been shown and the support I have received during my secondment, and I am delighted now to be able to join the University as permanent member of staff."
