Surrey enters Guardian's top 40 UK universities for English Literature & Creative Writing
The Guardian University Guide 2015 league table puts Surrey in the top 40 UK universities for English Literature and Creative Writing.
Surrey is now ranked among the UK's best 40 universities for English Literature and Creative Writing, according to the Guardian University Guide league table 2015, following an impressive rise of 21 places. The University as a whole moved into the top 6 for the first time, above institutions such as LSE, UCL, Durham, Lancaster and Warwick.
The Guardian bases its rankings on factors such as teaching excellence, student satisfaction and employability rates, which meshes closely with the School of English and Languages approach to teaching and learning. For example, we are pioneers in offering all our undergraduate English Literature students the opportunity of gaining vital experience through a Professional Training placement period, while the new MFA Creative Writing programme concentrates on a unique combination of creative, critical and practical skills.
