Sociology at Surrey remains in Guardian's UK top 10
Surrey remains among the UK's best universities for sociology and criminology, according to the prestigious Guardian University Guide 2015 league table.
Surrey has retained its place among the UK's top-10 universities for Sociology, according to the Guardian University Guide league table 2015. The University as a whole also moved into the top 6 for the first time, above institutions such as LSE, UCL, Durham, Lancaster and Warwick.
The Guardian bases its rankings on factors such as teaching excellence, student satisfaction and employability rates.
This year the Department of Sociology (which also encompasses Criminology and Media Studies) entered the elite top 40 of the QS World University Rankings, confirming Surrey's place among the world's finest institutions for teaching and research in the social sciences.
