This special award was hand-picked by the Surrey Digital Awards (SDA) team for the 5GIC “going above and beyond the norm for the promotion and betterment of the county of Surrey through their work.”

Keith Robson, Chief Operating Officer at the 5GIC, said: “This is a major event, and the 5GIC is delighted to receive such a significant award that puts Surrey on the map for global digital technology.

“It’s very exciting that 26 of the world’s leading 5G companies are coming to Guildford to talk about developments that will change the face of the digital economy.

“The 5GIC is the largest academic/industry 5G development centre in the world, with the current programme valued at £80m. The Government will be allocating a lot more money into this over the next four years.

“The advent of 5G will revolutionise what business and communities can do together in the future.”
