Our research has a particular focus on micro-scale processing, materials integration and manufacture to allow the creation of unique 3D micro- and nano-scale structures, with an emphasis on sustainable materials and manufacturing processes as well as understanding the fate of nanomaterials in the environment.

EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Micro- and NanoMaterials and Technologies

The Centre has a unique focus on characterisation and provides sponsoring organisations with use of state-of-the-art instrumentation equipment.


Enhancing the performance of ceramic armour and protective coatings

Funding information:
A tax-free stipend of £16,000 per year will be provided over the 3 year duration of the PhD. The studentship will also cover UK university fees. There will be an opportunity to receive further payments for teaching duties undertaken in the department.
