News from CTS-'Translating with the help of corpora'

On 22 September, 22 translators from all over the UK came to Surrey to attend the hands-on workshop on “Translating with the help of corpora”.

This was the third professional development workshop in three consecutive years organized by the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and led by Dr Ana Frankenberg-Garcia, from the Centre for Translation Studies.

The workshop was very well-received, with participants tweeting comments such as “good day @ITIUK corpora workshop @UniOfSurrey in Guildford today. Now dead keen to use corpora more starting tomorrow” and providing very positive anonymous feedback, such as “Very good workshop. Thank you. Just the right balance between theory/explanations and practical exercises.”
