"I decided to undertake an LLM in International Law at Surrey after my Bachelors degree and a year of internship experiences abroad. I was attracted by the interesting and varied range of modules available for LLM students at Surrey.
After enrolling, I soon discovered that Surrey has its own approach to teaching LLM students. First of all, modules are designed specifically to focus on the subject area and are conducted by well-known and experienced academics in the School - the programme therefore enabled me to concentrate on my areas of interest within law.
The modules are run through highly interactive seminars, which encourage students to give brief presentations to the class. These are then followed by lecturing and class discussions on the given topic. Students also have plenty of opportunities to engage with their subjects of interest through regular guest talks organised by the School. These talks bring in expertise from different legal fields to provide insight into specialised subjects.
The School of Law has a very good reputation and is well known for its friendly environment. It has helpful academics and students who are willing to offer assistance and learning support throughout the duration of your study. Based on the excellent learning experiences and teaching I have had, I am confident in my area of law and have decided to continue my study by undertaking a PhD at Surrey. I would highly recommend the LLM courses."
