Physician Associate Studies"Surrey is a well renowned university and I like its unique learning environment. The fact that it’s within close proximity makes it very convenient to juggle my busy family lifestyle and that of my studies.
I have a first degree in Biomedical Science. I have also worked as a health care assistant, a receptionist/secretary, and just before I joined Surrey I was working as a learning disability support worker.
My experience of working in the health care industry had a great influence on my career choice. When I saw this new course advertised, I really liked the idea of being able to deliver holistic care to patients on a medical model and I found it a privilege to be one of the pioneers.
I like caring and improving people’s quality of life, therefore being a Physician Associate gives me an opportunity to fulfil that because I will work within the allied medical career.
Placement days are great, they consolidate my learning and I get to deal with real case scenarios.
The faculty is very helpful with supportive staff, the lecturers are of high calibre with a great deal of expertise in their field.
The environment is marvellous, I enjoy the fresh breeze around the campus. Transport links and car parking facilities are also superb. The University is very prestigious and modern.
I have had a significant change since I started learning at Surrey, I now think strategically and my medical knowledge has improved in a very short space of time. Once I finish the programme, I will work as a Physician Associate within the NHS."
