University of Surrey hosts major financial conference

Surrey Business School welcomes international congress of researchers and policy makers to discuss a range of financial topics.

Financial experts from around the world gathered at the University of Surrey recently for Banking, Finance, Money and Institutions: The Post Crisis Era, a conference jointly organised by the Centre for Money, Banking and Institutions (CMBI) at Surrey Business School and the Centre for Research in Contemporary Finance at Fordham University in the United States.

In light of the ongoing problems in various economies and banking sectors across the globe, the conference provided a forum for paper presentations and discussions on a variety of topics, including the performance of banking and financial markets, financial stability and risk management, and the monetary, regulatory and institutional environment.

The conference, held on 2-3 November, featured guest speakers Anthony Saunders, the John M. Schiff Professor of Finance at the Stern School of Business, New York University, and Hans Degryse, Professor of Finance at the KU Leuven in Belgium and Tilburg University in the Netherlands.
