I chose Surrey because of its beautiful, friendly campus and its high quality of teaching - especially in psychology.
Studying my course at Surrey has equipped me with so much fundamental knowledge, and has introduced me to key theories - from the very beginning of psychology to the modern techniques psychologists and scientists are using today.
The best thing about my course is the independence around studying. I love that we have scheduled lectures and then we’re free to manage our time any way we want. This means we’re able to balance our personal lives with our studies, in our own unique way. The teaching staff and tutors are also very approachable and kind towards students - they're always there to help!
An inspiring place to study
I find the campus is a very natural, inspiring place to study. Some of my happiest memories at Surrey are the moments when my friends and I walked around campus, around the lake or to one of the cafes. There are so many places to unwind and relax after our lectures.
Looking ahead
After I graduate, I'll be starting my masters course in Social and Developmental Psychology at the University of Cyprus. My goal is to become an academic and to focus on research and teaching in the field of psychology.
My advice
In order to make the most of your studies at Surrey, I'd advise you pay close attention to your studies and your tasks as a student, but also to never forget to treat yourself with kindness and love, and to take care of your mental health. Give yourself time to settle in and learn the way university works. Never hesitate to ask for help when you need it - either from your family, friends or the Surrey community, which offers multiple sources of help. I hope you enjoy your studies to the fullest!
