What you will study
Become a finance leader who can confidently interpret complex financial statements, build robust financial models using programming languages like R and Python, and navigate emerging FinTech developments.
Our online MSc Finance course equips you with the broad financial knowledge, technical proficiency and strategic acumen to make data-driven decisions that make an impact on the bottom line. Covering core financial concepts like balance sheets and innovative trends like blockchain and cryptocurrency, you’ll gain the hands-on skills to pursue advanced roles in finance – without leaving your job or relocating.
This course is delivered through a combination of asynchronous teaching, learning activities and regular live sessions. Your final strategic financial project will give you the chance to explore a financial topic of your choice; demonstrate your ability to identify, plan for, and solve a real-world financial problem; and reflect upon the knowledge and hands-on skills gained during the course.
The MSc Finance consists of 180 credits, and is divided into 10 fully autonomous credit-bearing modules. Each module is worth 15 credits, except the final strategic financial project, which is worth 30 credits.

Our online MSc Finance is designed to help those with or without a formal background who want to pursue careers in investment banking, asset management, financial consultancy or corporate finance. It is ideal for professionals who want to make a career change or advance in their current position.
To meet the entry requirements, applicants must have a minimum of a 2:2 UK honours degree in accountancy, banking, business administration, economics, engineering, finance, management, mathematics or science, or a recognised equivalent international qualification.
If you do not have a degree in one of the above areas, you must have a minimum of a 2:2 UK honours degree, or a recognised equivalent international qualification, with one year of full-time work experience in an accountancy or financial role.

English language requirements
If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence of your English language level. Proof of your English language level can include:
- Results from the IELTS Academic with a minimum score of 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in each other element
- GCSE English or another high school English qualification, taken within the last five years
- Proof of professional experience of at least three years in a role that involves regular communication in English
- Proof that you have completed an undergraduate degree in English.
