What do you do now and what do you find most enjoyable about your line of work?
I am currently on the graduate programme in an aerospace company, Meggitt PLC, working on live projects and rotations around the world with exposure to the research and development projects within the civil and military aerospace industry.
What attracted you to choose the University of Surrey and to study your programme here?
I chose University of Surrey because of the year in industry option and the University's relations with the companies in the Engineering sector.
What were the best things about your programme?
The highlight of the programme was the multi-disciplinary design project where I was able to apply the knowledge I gained during my four years. It also gave a good exposure to what a project would be like while working at a company.
How did you change as a person during your time as a Surrey student?
I have become more social and confident which was developed over the course of my time at University through projects, societies and my Professional Training placement.
How did your time at Surrey influence your career?
The modules taught, the projects and the year in industry with GE Aviation gave me a very clear vision while choosing a career path at the end of my degree. It also made me stand out during the graduate recruitment process.
How can students hoping to work in your profession make the most of their time at Surrey?
I would suggest the students to get involved with the initiatives such as the Formula Student and use the University's relations with companies to obtain a year in industry placement. This will help you develop in social and professional environments.
What aspects of being connected with the alumni network are most important to you/of most interest to you?
Through alumni network, I can keep up to date with the progression of the University. The networking opportunity also open opportunities with other members of the alumni network.
