Spanish work and study placements
For four to ten months, you will work as a becario in one or more of the Spanish or Latin American companies with which we have contact. Some have prestigious names, and are well-known around the world. They are challenging placements, but at the end you should have acquired a good command of Spanish, and learned a lot about Spanish culture in general and Spanish business culture in particular. Moreover, you will have had an excellent work experience which you can refer to when you are looking for a job after University.

Our partner universities in Spain
University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona)
The University Pompeu Fabra (UPF) is situated in Barcelona city centre, in Spain’s North East coast. The University was founded as a State University in 1990 with the intention of reflecting and promoting the values of the new democratic Spain in Catalonia. It is named after Pompeu Fabra, a linguist who standardised the catalán language and who published its first dictionary.
According to the 2007 state universities ranking published by the El Mundo newspaper, UPF is Spain’s number one university in the following subjects:
- Business Studies
- Media and Audiovisual Studies
UPF is a highly respected university for translation and interpreting.
University Pontificia De Comillas (Madrid)
The Universidad Pontificia de Comillas takes its name from the place where it was originally placed at the time of its foundation in 1890, the Villa de Comillas in Santander. At that time the future university was a seminary dedicated exclusively to the education and preparation of future priests.
In 1977, after moving to Madrid, UPC was given the necessary status and the capacity to educate all types of students in a variety of degrees. Today, UPCV consists of seven faculties one of which is the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, our partner in the Erasmus programme from 1997. UPC is number 4 in the private universities ranking provided by newspaper El Mundo.
University Jaume I (Castellón De La Plana)
UJI was founded in 1991 with the intention of providing Castellón with a higher education Institution. It is named after Jaume I el Conqueridor, king of Aragon and Catalonia who took the Comunidad Valenciana from the Muslims in 1236. As this Comunidad was conquered by Catalan speaking Christians, Catalan is spoken throughout the area; although as in Catalonia (see briefing for UPF) Castellón is a bilingual city where Castilian is spoken throughout.
Four years ago UJI inaugurated its new campus in Riu Sec where both faculties and one school are located. LTS holds a partnership with the Department of Translation and Interpreting in the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences.
The department of Translation and Interpreting at UJI is in third place in the ranking provided by the newspaper El Mundo in 2007.
