I have been working in academia for over two decades, mostly in the UK, and enjoy being involved in making a positive impact on society, by contributing to nurture the values of responsible and creative leadership in global communities.
Prior to my appointment as Dean International for the University of Surrey, I served as Associate Dean (International) in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Executive Director for MSc and MBA Programmes in the Business School. Prior to that, I served at the Imperial College Business School, where I led the MSc Management programme to top FT ranking positions, launched the MSc Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Management, transformed the Executive MBA Programmes and created Student Experience events such as the Imperial Launchpad Day.
At the University of Surrey, I eagerly champion and support initiatives that contribute to the University's internationalisation, expanding the opportunities for students, alumni and our professional and academic staff.
As Dean International, I aim to create bridges with universities in various parts of the world, as I believe in the exchange of knowledge, practice and experiences, as an effective way of creating new knowledge, enhancing good practices and gaining valuable experience.
I am a member of the Higher Education Academy and am passionate about innovation in teaching, learning and assessment, which I continuously explore, embrace and encourage, with the aim to enhance students' experience and satisfaction. This goes also via nurturing a global network of corporate contacts, alumni and students.
As I hold a PhD in Accounting and am a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW, my research interest lies in Accounting (in particular the developments in performance indicators); I lecture on the strategic use of accounting information and have been the editor of a global Accounting and Reporting Quarterly for the best part of a decade. I have also collaborated with the Accenture Finance Academy and with the London School of Economics external programmes, I sit in the International Committee of the Chartered Association of Business Schools, I am a reviewer for EPAS, and have been external examiner of a number of business schools in the UK and in Ireland.
