Predicting spatiotemporal transmission dynamics and risk of Cystic Echinococcosis in South AmericaEchinococcosis is a complex zoonotic disease caused by the larval stage of the Taeniid cestode species Echinococcus granulosus. Mathematical modelling and statistical approaches will be used to expand our understanding of Cystic echinococcosis (CE) and the complexities of its epidemiology in South America. CE exerts a substantial health and economic impact in both humans and the agricultural industry in the region, subsequently, strengthening CE surveillance and control capacity is a priority for both the WHO and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).
