Xiaotong Ma received his BS.c degree in hospitality and tourism management at both Tianjin University of Commerce as well as Florida International University, and MS.c in international tourism management at the University of Exeter. Now he is a postgraduate researcher in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management of the University of Surrey. His research interest focusing on the organizational learning and the tourism sustainability, with the implication of the sustainable destination governance in the Chinese tourism context.

Lots of researches focusing on organizational learning and tourism sustainability from separate point of views and interest fields. The lack of the literature view and empirical investigation between two aspects was, and still remaining so far, especially in the Chinese tourism context. More specifically, to investigate how and under which conditions organizational can be able to facilitate tourism sustainability via the dynamic capabilities mediation effect as well as learning capacity is crucial to better understand the interdependence between these two concepts. Furthermore, the research outcomes also aim to provide us with a vision about how to better and critically use organizational learning as a tool to level up the sustainable performance of the DMO, as a part of a much bigger and long-range destination governance strategy.
