Kerstine joined the School of Tourism and Hospitality in 2013, joining from the travel industry where she held many senior HR roles in a career spanning over 20 years.
As a qualified HR (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) practitioner she brings many practical and realistic case studies to her teaching. She also worked for many years in seasonal customer facing roles throughout Europe and has worked as a tour guide in Australia and Europe.
Kerstine holds the Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching, a BA (HONS) in International Tourism Management and is currently studying for an MA in Higher Education. She spent her university placement year as the first female President of the Leeds Beckett University Students Union and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Her professional duties as Director of Professional Development for the school entail securing new placements for our students as well as coaching students to prepare them for interviews, assessment centres and future roles. She also mentors other academics through their teaching certificate modules.
Kerstine is the lead on several large school modules including Developing Professionals, Leadership and the Mentoring modules, as well as teaching on several more.
Her interests are employability, graduate recruitment, HR and management disciplines.

I teach across all of the School of Tourism and Hospitality UG courses from Level 4 to Level 6.
I am also a placement tutor, personal tutor and mentor both staff and students in various programmes.
